My work was featured on the Art Works For Change website for their: Footing the Bill: Art and Our Ecological Footprint (2019) online exhibition. “Originally launched on August 13, 2015 (Earth Overshoot Day 2015), Footing the Bill: Art and Our Ecological Footprint is an ongoing exhibition that addresses the urgent need to live sustainably within the Earth’s finite resources. The exhibition features a curated exhibition of artists whose work challenges us to reflect on our ecological footprint, as well as virtual tours from leading environmental organizations. The exhibition is updated annually to commemorate Earth Day, and for Earth Day 2019, features new content from our partner organizations.”
My art projects which address issues of sustainability in the fashion industry are featured, such as Persephone, Maple Flapper, Eco-Man, the Mobile Garden Dress and the Little Green Dress Projekt. Also included are some of my frozen garments and text projects.
They are a non-profit organization and they have created a Pledge Centrewhere you can click on various guides to help you reduced your carbon footprint, such as:
Reduce Your Fashion Footprint
Textile production consumes large amounts of water and energy and often utilizes toxic chemicals that pollute the environment. The disposal of unwanted textiles also adversely affects the environment. You can make sustainable choices to reduce the impact of your wardrobe.
