The Shelter from the Storm sculpture installed outdoors at the Sculpted Green exhibition in Bellevue WA. This piece was a continuation of my work in the Belonging series done in Vancouver where I first worked with the invasive Himalayan Blackberry. Author Tom Robbins in Still Life with Woodpecker imagines the vine taking over the city: The pale green illumination that filtered through the dome of vines could inspire a whole new school of painting: centuries from now, art critics might speak, as of chiaroscuro, of “blackberry light.”
