A sculpture woven from Willow and Dogwood branches, created for the Winterruption Festival on Granville Island in Vancouver BC. Approximately 84” x 60” diameter.

Yellow and Red
Woven "green", the branches retained their full colors, which over the months turned brown.

The sculpture was later installed in a nearby park for the summer.

MW on site
reminiscent of the old picture taking panels of the circus, the sculpture allows for a person to prop their head in the face and have their photo taken.

Happy Face
The sculpture was a great success with the public, even when there was no signage prompting them to do so, they intuitively climbed up the back stairs and put their face in the hole.

Camellia Skirt
I rescued the bottom half of the sculpture from the compost bin and placed it under the Burrard Bridge and covered it with flowers from my Camellia tree.

Lush Pink
The lush pink was in stark contrast to the grey concrete under the bridge.

Madame Camellia
A friend dropped by and I photographed her moving her torso, hemmed in by the weight of the flower skirt.
